...and I was fortunate to be asked to do his cover art! The full-length manuscript has JUST come out from PoeticMatrix Press and will be available through their website, poeticmatrix.com, Amazon.com and local bookstores. I had a lot of fun creating the artwork, reading through Joseph Zaccardi's manuscript and gleaning all the rich images and sensual pleasure therein. Joe is a poet who "pays attention" to his surroundings, acknowledging how nature and human relations affect him, changing him. There was so much sweetness, tension and love in the way he writes of this world!
I worked closely with Joe, picking out familiar themes that could translate into images and then a color-scheme that would reflect the overall feel of the book. It was a fabulous journey, from the first roughs to the final draft.
