Hundreds of people in Marin County had the opportunity to paint a real bowling pin to be auctioned off at an Art Reception on January 21, 2009 at Piatti Ristorante & Bar! All proceeds will go to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.
My pea-pod theme was painted with acrylic paint (thanks Sarah!). The color palette was inspired by a 50's piece of cloth.

Hi Kate,
I love it! It looks very Italian! Maybe the Italian Restaurant will buy it.. There used to be a store in Marin called "Peapod".... Now there's Teapod, in San Anselmo.
Someone is going to love having this... maybe an Italian Bowler that loves peas.... hmmm...
I had a photo shoot today with dogs... I gave my bowling pin to Wade Thomas School Art Teacher, Jennie Bahrt to do with the kids. I think she is going to gesso it today, and paint it for next week. They are doing abstract designs in bright colors. Will be cool to see how it turns out. Are you going to the actual event/dinner? That seems like it would be a lot of fun. I'd love to photograph all the pins. I hope to have time to paint one next year.
