Kate's Updates! New Painting!

"Bounty", 22 x 15, watercolor on paper
My latest watercolor was inspired first by the old Biblical phrase repeated throughout the King James Bible, "The apple of my eye". The "apple" for the KJV translators of the Middle Ages meant not the fruit, but the reflection of oneself in another's  pupil. My other inspiration was, of course, the apples themselves. In this case, a fruit-laden bough at the Regenerative Design Institute in West Marin.
It's not very clear, but there was a beautiful bite in one of the apples. Some squirrel, no doubt, who go close enough to see itself in these beauties!

Kate's Updates!.....Newest Art on the Farm Painting

"Wary Chickens", 9 x12, watercolor on clayboard

These two did not like me nosing around their coop! These guys lived at Regenerative Design Institute in Bolinas, a very cool, shabby-chic eco-garden center.
